How should I get back with my long distance ex?

My ex and I broke up back in January and I think our issues could be resolved. It was a mutual break up. I have moved two hours away from him since then but I was back to visit over the weekend. I think he may be interested in getting back together. We hugged for about 10 minutes before I left. Is that a good indication? How should I go about this? I have never met anyone else that I have such a great connection with.
